Part D Senior Savings Program

We know that the cost of insulin can be a roadblock to managing your diabetes. Going without your insulin or taking less than you should, can lead to serious health issues. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield cares about your health and wants to see you stay on track with your insulin medication.

The Part D Senior Savings Model provides select insulins at a lower copays though the deductible, initial and the coverage gap phases of the Part D benefit. Please refer to your EOC for your Medicare plan to view what copay you will pay for the select insulins.

Insulins Covered Through the Program

Select insulins listed on the formulary with the description “ISP” next to them are included in the Program. Some examples are Humalog™, Insulin Lispro,  Lantus™, Toujeo™ Please note: If you get an exception for a non-formulary insulin such as Novolog™, the lower copays will not apply.

This program only applies to insulin filled under your Part D plan. Insulin used in an insulin pump is covered under your Part B (not Part D) benefit.

At our participating retail pharmacies and home delivery pharmacies, you can get a 90-day supply of select insulins and save even more money!

Find a local pharmacy that can fill a 90-day supply or fill a 90-day supply of insulin through one of our home delivery pharmacies and pay only 2 copays!
